A basket of oranges Coptic bound book. I learned a new skill, pine needle basket making, and used it for a perfectly themed #AreYouBookEnough challenge.
The covers are made of pine needles, of course, coiled around dried orange slices. My first attempt at using an object to start the basket, and I was pleased with the results.The pages are dyed with a homemade orange peel dye. I boiled peels from about 5 oranges and simmered for 3 hours.It wasn’t as stark a color as I would have liked, but the aroma is delightful.
