A duo accordion book. The book(s)’ pages are “Polaroid” photos of an over year long healing process. Bandaged and held together with book tape and 98 stitches, the book(s) are wrapped in the words “HEALING IS A PROCESS”. The whole thing is encased in an old Johnson & Johnson bandage tin.
THE STORY
Several years ago I had an unfortunate run in with a freshly steeped cup of tea, leaving about a 10”x8” 2nd degree burn on my left hip. After some $@:()$#^*{|€£ I surveyed the damage. That is what you see on the first “polaroid” next to “CAN”. I took the first photo to send to my husband who was away on a work trip when this went down. It became a daily, weekly, monthly ritual to take photos of how “TIME HEALS ALL WOUNDS”. The final photo next to “LEAVE” is what it looked like a year later. Over a year later the scar remained, because “WOUNDS CAN LEAVE SCARS.”
